Adriana and Kedrick's wedding weekend began with the potential for disaster. You would have never known it, though. To see the two of them at the outset of the weekend was to behold a couple whose clear, beautiful priorities are God and family.
Adriana and Kedrick met while attending the University of Texas at San Antonio. While involved with the Catholic Student Association, the two began dating and soon found themselves discerning the vocation of marriage. Kedrick proposed to Adriana in Hawaii with his family and the celebration continued in Tierra Nueva, Mexico, her parents' childhood hometown.
The wedding festivities began with the bride, groom and bridal party decorating the Lakeside Pavilion. Are you curious about the potential for disaster? Several of the wedding party were cutting baby's breath and roses for table centerpieces. Adriana casually walked by and inquired about the long stemmed roses intended for her bridal bouquet. You could have heard a pin drop. You guessed it- her blooms had been masterfully snipped into tiny pieces for the table displays. My second shooter, Ally, didn't miss a beat, confidently proclaiming that we could get more; I was off to the nearest florist. Adriana didn't blame anyone. Bridezilla didn't fly across the venue and beat the cutter with the discarded long stems. Preparations simply continued. Talk about a beautiful spirit! Adriana and Kedrick planned a lovely wedding, clearly inspired by their commitment to God and one another.
When I met with this sweet couple before the wedding they had only a few requests, two of which included presenting flowers to Our Lady of Guadalupe and their mothers, and family formals. Adriana and Kedrick took great care to make sure all extended family group was photographed with them. Kedrick's dad, Ken, was remembered and celebrated throughout the day. As Kedrick's mother reminded all, "Ken is here with us."
The reception was a non-stop celebration with family and friends. The Best Bridal Party award was bestowed upon this special group of friends, both lifelong and college. Bubble guns and sunglasses accompanied whooping, hollering, dancing, and a Mariachi serenade!
Adriana and Kedrick, it was an honor to photography your wedding. Please enjoy a few of my favorites.
Thanks for stopping by,
