The Powers Family
Baytree Ranch

It still blows my mind that I met Julia when she was six years old through a family friend and years later she and my youngest brother, Tim, met and married! These best friends and soulmates are a joy to be around.

Tim is an entrepreneur, rancher, and avid outdoorsman. Tim’s work ethic and fun meter rival the best! Julia is one of the sweetest and most creative people I have ever met. Whether it is decorating advice for an event or kind words and a hug because of a bad day, Julia is always my go-to girl. Their son, Reno, is ten, loves soccer, and his winter white dwarf hamster, Snowball. He also loves the outdoors, like his father, and can whip you in a game of cards. He is the coolest kid I know!

For this session we met at the scenic Baytree Ranch. A cloudy afternoon couldn’t mask the beauty of the terrain. Native grasslands, thorny shrubs, mesquite and oak trees are all home to the local wildlife. Whitetail deer, sandhill cranes, or a squadron of javelina could appear off in the distance at any moment. What a gift to walk around the brush, water tank, and working cattle pens just talking and laughing.

A scheduled photo shoot turned into a peaceful and enjoyable afternoon with three of my favorite people. One bit of proof? Reno and I got a good laugh at the end of the session. I stated I was finished and Reno asked, “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but would you like one with me in the tree and my parents in the trough?”. I just love that guy!

Please enjoy my favorites from the day.

Thanks for stopping by,
Roberta
